Weddings by there very nature are emotion fueled days, but non more so than Rachel & Ewan's. Sadly Rachel's mum had passed away just weeks before the wedding but in true British fashion and proving just how strong she really is, the wedding went ahead and what a wedding it was. The little touches really added to both the emotion of the day but also making it special for everyone involve.
Before the big day Rachel, Ewan and their kids had been grown butterflies to be released in memory of Rachel's mum. 9 in total were released in a truly unique and beautiful part of the day. Most gravitated towards Rachel, some choosing to settle on her dress, while others were quite happy on her hands.
The dress was stunning and match the beauty of the amazing Skipton Castle where the ceremony took place. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side and we had showers and drizzle on an off through the day but once again no one let this dampen their spirits. Everyone embraced the day and celebrated Rachel & Ewan's big day in style.
This was a wedding of firsts for me, 1st without a mum present, 1st with butterflies, 1st in a castle, 1st with rain all day BUT it was also the first wedding that I've photographed (or been a guest at) where I put the bride and groom on a fairground ride!! Yes you heard me correctly, the fair was in town for Skipton gala and the bride was up for it, so off to the fair we went to capture some unique wedding day shots!
All in all I loved this wedding from start to finish and wish Rachel & Ewan every bit of happiness for the future as a family.
